On April 26, 2025, I was honored by SGV-NCNW (San Gabriel Valley National Council of Negro Women) at their 2nd Annual Gala as one of the recipients of their Community Icon Award. The theme of the event was Empower, Inspire, Transform. The work I do with Alliance of Black Women Accountants and other organizations is because I truly love serving my community.
However, I am humbled and grateful to be recognized by such an amazing historical organization. In my life I have been truly blessed.
I feel a responsibility to give back to my community as I live by this biblical principle: “To whom much is given much is required” (Luke 12:48).The evening was filled with inspirational stories of the work that is being done in our communities. I was surrounded by family and friends including my ABWA sisters. Twelve board and general members representing ABWA attended the event. ABWA was also a proud sponsor of this event.
